I am big fan of farmers markets for so many reasons – but mainly because of the variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods and other fun things that are offered by people in my area.
Farmers markets serve as a way for people to purchase locally grown produce, and also provide a chance to connect with others within our communities. Black people had a nearly twofold higher mortality rate than their white peers for hypertension-related heart disease deaths in 2018, according to a new study in the journal Hypertension.

A study published last week in the Journal of the Endocrine Society found that taking cinnamon may have positive effects on blood sugar control in people with a condition known as prediabetes, and may even slow the progression toward type 2 diabetes.

Scientists working for Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), an organization with U.S. Department of Agriculture oversight, have partnered with Taco Bell to introduce a Grilled Cheese Burrito to get Americans to eat more artery-clogging cheese.
That’s a problem.
